Blackburn 5th, 6th graders present �Choices Count!�

On October 15, 2009, Blackburn Elementary�s 5th and 6th grade students preformed an outstanding program! The singing was wonderful, the pitches were awesome, and it�s all thanks to the school�s music teacher Mrs. Teresa Dodson.

Mrs. Karla Richardson, our school counselor decided to help make students aware of current events in the world around us and generate some spirited competition at the same time. She initiated the Red River Rivalry Shootout.

We wanted to celebrate with an essay contest for the upper grades (3rd-6th) and a drawing contest for grades Pre- k through 2nd.

Blackburn accepts Rachel�s Challenge

Blackburn students, faculty and staff have accepted Rachel�s Challenge.

Rachel was a young girl who at a young age decided she wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of others. She believed that kindness was the way to begin making that difference. Rachel lost her life at age 17 but her dream of touching the lives of millions in a positive way lives on through her challenge to all, to be kind to others.
